EDITORIAL
METHODOLOGY AND TECHNOLOGY OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION
The article considers the conceptual framework that may ensure the efficient development of the Institute of Vocational Education of the Indigenous Peoples of Ugra, which is being established in the Surgut State University. The purpose of the research is to develop the conceptual framework for the Institute. The novelty of the presented conceptual framework is in the fact that the Institute of Vocational Education of the Indigenous Peoples of Ugra is considered as a resource center representing a system of ideas, principles and strategies aimed at the implementation of academic research, educational, learning and teaching, expert and analytical, information and communication activities in education of indigenous peoples.
The relevance of the article is due to the need of developing a Comperehensive Programme of Pedagogical Support for Professional Formation of the Youth from Among the Indigenous Peoples of the North considering the fact that community-minded, conscientious and competent professionals are needed. The purpose of the article is to provide rationale for the programme using the case of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra. The programme is focused on the formation of professional competency of college graduates representing the indigenous peoples of the North within the skills they acquire at the college, which are essential in their traditional habitats. The proposed article is the result of the researches carried out in 2019–2022, presented by the authors at research-to-practice conferences. The results of the researches alsoprovided the basis for the dissertation.
The relevance of the article is due to the need for focusing on the development of rural schools and raising the level of competence of rural school teachers. The article brings to light problems and difficulties that a rural school teacher faces. The specifics of the professional activities of rural school teachers is revealed. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of a rural teacher professional activity and determine the ways of improving his/her professional competence. In the article, the authors clarified the concepts of “professional competence”, “rural teacher”, “professional competence of a rural school teacher”, “teacher advanced training” and “personalization”. The authors’ merit is the analysis of rural schools specifics, as well as the identification of ways of improving the professional competence of a rural school teacher through advanced training and making an individual educational route for a teacher’s professional growth. The conducted research has proved that the developed professional competence allows a rural school teacher to organize and manage the educational process efficiently, thereby providing optimal conditions for teaching, upbringing and development of students.
Currently, digital technologies including various means of communication, play an important role in daily life of both students and teachers. Rapid development of Internet communications and social networks requires not only technical skills from students, but also the ability to interact following the digital etiquette rules. The article considers the importance of digital etiquette skills development among university students within the framework of the modern communication paradigm. The article presents the results of the research that have allowed the authors to make certain conclusions about the way the university students studying Pedagogy react to the norms of digital etiquette. The authors confirm that the development of digital etiquette skills as a means of communication among university students is necessary for improvement of e-learning and online environment in education.
GENERAL PEDAGOGY, HISTORY OF PEDAGOGY AND EDUCATION
The paper describes an online form of pre-school education for children of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, organized in nomadic camps. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate how parents of preschoolers participating in the project “Nomadic kindergartens” assess its performance. The questionnaire survey data obtained in 2023 are used in the paper. It has been proved that a key factor is a socio-psychological one. As the child grows and reaches preschool/primary school age, the online format of education in nomadic camps allows adapting it to new social conditions and consider its ethnocultural component during the education.
The article considers the experience of creating content for an educational platform based on the principles of personalized learning. The relevance of the article is due to the fact that the development of information technologies has made it possible to create personalized educational programs and use online platforms for one-to-one teaching. It creates yet more possibilities for teachers to personalize the teaching and learning process so that each student could achieve best results. The purpose of the article is to share the experience of creating a format of teaching and learning in which an individual level of knowledge, interests and pace of learning of each student can be taken into account. The proposed educational module of “Well-Bread Speech” for senior students can be used by teachers at “Russian Language” and “Speech Culture” lessons as well as at Klassny Chas (homeroom period).
The paper considers the urgent problem of prevention and treatment of vagrancy in adolescents, which is quite a frequent deviation in schoolchildren behavior. The issue was studied by such researches as V. S. Mukhina, E. G. Slutsky, A. A. Rezakov, A. M. Nechaeva etc. Adequate and early arranged work with such adolescents can prevent negative consequences of such children being neglected. The purpose of the paper is to investigate the possibility of using relaxation therapy classes in working with such children, which is not conventional for the modern experiential pedagogy. The article offers recommendations on using the method of pedagogical suggestion in relaxed state in most complicated cases of working with children who suffer from learning disabilities, leave home and become vagrant.
DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY
The article is a review of researches on the use of cognitive-behavioral methods in education. The study is of current interest as far as there is an urgent need for developing the ways of improving educational efficiency and psychological well-being of students. The analysis of academic papers, literature review and meta-analysis of research results were carried out. The results of the review prove that the use of cognitive-behavioral methods in education allows for the improvement of concentration, motivation and selfcontrol of students, as well as the reduction of stress and anxiety. The article emphasizes the importance of using cognitive-behavioral methods in education both to improve the educational process and to ensure psychological well-being of students. The novelty of the study lies in the systematization and analysis of the latest research data on the issue. The article can be of practical applicability for teachers and psychologists as it provides the basis for the development and implementation of efficient strategies in teaching and psychological support of students. The obtained results can be applied in higher and secondary education, as well as in corporate and skills development trainings for students of various age.
Informational competence is one of the priority areas of modern education. However, any scientific or technological progress has inevitable negative aspects along with the certain positive ones. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the functional state of northern undergraduates when using information and communication technologies. As the result of the research, it has been found out that the students of Surgut State University are on the computer during the major part of their time. This is one of the causes for hypodynamia, obesity, and maladaptive changes in different systems of the body. The visual analyzer, the musculoskeletal system, the cardiovascular and central nervous systems suffer from considerable workload. The students have noted the increased nervousness, which may lead to malicious behavior and emotional tension. It prevents students from effective studying.
The article presents the results of the empirical study of the relation between personality orientation and motivation of work activities in bachelor and master’s students studying the humanities. Bachelor and master’s students studying “Physical Culture and Sport” and “Linguistics” at Surgut State University took part in the research. According to the obtained results, the students have humanistic orientation of personality and are committed to the goal. Favorable working conditions and professional development are the main motives of work activities.
HEALTH-IMPROVING AND ADAPTED PHYSICAL EDUCATION
The relevance of the article is due to the need of creating conditions for attendance and correction of motor disorders in students with health problems of different nosological groups. In many ways, this is also the issue for children with intellectual disabilities, whose number has increased considerably in recent years. The purpose of the study is to identify physical education and sports activities for children with intellectual disabilities that ensure correction of motor disorders. The author describes the case of the Research and Practice Center for Adaptive Sports and Physical Rehabilitation created at Orenburg State Pedagogical University for students with intellectual disabilities. The author also proposes physical education and sports activities for organizations providing support to students with intellectual disabilities and correction of their motor disorders for stimulating physical development and socialization of such students. The article is intended for professionals in recreational and adapted physical education who arrange physical education and sports activities for students with intellectual disabilities.
The purpose of the study was to determine the degree of readiness of physical education teachers to work with pre-school children with special needs. During the study, a questionnaire survey was carried out among the teachers in order to find out their level of education, years of experience and the features of the teaching process at pre-school educational institutions. To achieve good results in working with special needs children, educational and special-purpose programmes in adapted physical culture need to be developed for teachers. For this purpose not only material, technical and methodological support is needed. It also requires teachers’ advanced training and experience sharing.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL PHYSICAL TRAINING
The article presents the results of studying postural balance features in undergraduate women of Surgut State University. The relevance of this article is due to the need of understanding the physics and individual functions of keeping upright, which reflect the adaptive features of students’ bodies, in order to make physical education more effective. According to the computer stabilometrics results, the majority of young women participating in the study, carry out their balance control using visual system. The analysis of changes in the velocity of the general center of pressure demonstrates its quite a stable state in the majority of undergraduate women. The article is intended for professionals in physical culture and sport who organize health and fitness classes for university students.
