Abstract

The relevance of the article is due to the fact that the current issues of higher professional education can no longer be solved by mere acquiring health-saving skills through students physical education and training under the guidance of teachers. It is necessary to analyze and activate the resources of students with different attitude to the issues of health-saving, physical culture and sport, and to life in general, having different skill levels in health-saving (from the minimum level, involving health-saving activity under control from
the outside, to self-organized health-saving activities within and outside the educational process). The methodological basis of the research is the activity and competency-based approach. The purpose of the research is to
study strategies of students' activity, with different attitude to health-saving, physical culture and sport. As a result of the research several basic life and health-saving strategies of higher education students are identified
and described as more or less independent, structured and conscious activities. The health-saving activity of a person is considered as a set of well-ordered actions and operations, synergistically aimed at maintaining,
strengthening and restoring physical, mental, moral and social health, at protection and improvement of the quality, well-being and duration of one’s life as an integral, fully functioning person. The practical value and
the prospects of the research are connected with the development of an integrative model, based on which efficient health-saving programs can be created and implemented for the subjects of educational relations, as well
as with the development of recommendations for the improvement and enhancement of students' physical activity in the frame of health-care values. The application area of the study results is improvement and enhancement
of efficiency of training programs for specialists in higher education.
